Active air purification:
The air cleaning effect of the new Auranox surface is based on the proven photo catalytic activity of titanium dioxide (TiO2). The TiO2 molecules within the surface structure react with sunlight to break down organic dirt and nitrogen oxide molecules in the air. They act as a catalyst and as such stay in the tile surface with a permanent long lasting effect. Titanium dioxide is a naturally-occurring, non-toxic mineral also known as white pigment. It has been safely used in paints and in the food industry for many years.

The remaining particles as well as surface dirt are then easily washed away by the rain.

Active prevention of dirt and algae build-up:
Algae growth is the result from organic spores present in the atmosphere mixing with the humidity that is trapped within a material’s surface after the rain. With a quick-drying microstructure, algae growth is strongly impeded on roof tiles with the Auranox surface. In addition, the photo catalytic effect of TiO2 combined with sunlight decomposes the remaining organic dirt and algae, which are then washed away by the rain.
Long-lasting aesthetic appeal:
The new surface has a unique, specific microstructure that makes roof tiles with the Auranox surface more resistant to erosion, maintaining their smooth, semi-matt appearance for many years. The long-lasting finish is achieved through a distinctive production process – no paints or coatings are employed at all. Auranox is a pure mineral surface that can withstand all weather conditions.
