UNITED KINGDOM - GREATER MANCHESTER

Cambrian Slate roof from MONIER UK

HIGHER BROUGHTON

Completed in September 2008, MONIER UK provided the optimal roofing solution tailored to this newbuild affordable housing project in Higher Broughton, Salford located in Greater Manchester, UK.

For exceptional performance, a Redland brand mechanical dry-fix specification was applied to the eave, verge and ridge sections, matching the Cambrian Slates used in this project. Comprising 700 homes to be built over seven years, the development is part of an ongoing GBP 120 million regeneration of Higher Broughton led by the Salford City Council.

The dry-fix specification included the Redland Ambi-Dry Verge System and Universal Angle Ridge tiles on a DryVent Ridge System to provide stormproof low maintenance. The visually-discreet Cambrian ThruVent tiles completed the ventilation specification.

Cambrian Slate tiles provide the classic slate look with modern high performance. They embody the beauty and character of natural slate as they are manufactured from over 60% recycled Welsh slate and boast a very fine leading edge.

Unlike traditional natural slate tiles however, the modern interlocking Cambrian profile is manufactured to meet the latest standards for performance. And while light in weight, the Cambrian tile’s unique three-point fixing makes it suitable for even the most exposed sites.

When installed with the recommended fixings, the Cambrian Slate roof is backed by the unique 15 Year Roof System Guarantee from MONIER UK.
