GERMANY - HAMBURG
ST. JOHANNES CHURCH, HAMBURG
One of the most well-known churches for weddings in Hamburg is the St. Johannis Church situated in the bustling quarter of Eppendorf. originally built in 1267, the chapel roof was recently renovated according to the latest roofing techniques in terms of support structure and tile functionality. Church preservers obtained expert advice from a construction institute and a local roofer to run this project.
The key focus of the roof renovation project was to maintain the historical architectural style of the building while at the same time preserving the church by updating the roof. The choice fell on the Braas Granat 15 tile from MONIER in Germany. Manufactured out of local clay resources in northern Germany, the tile was the best fitfor the building thanks to its distinctive visual appearance and its outstanding resistance to rain and wind.
The historical nave with its new roof harmoniously matches the cityscape and is once again a popular wedding chapel open to Hamburg’s citizens.
