Quality Manager, Technical Centre
Nationality: Russian
Business unit and country: Monier Technical Centre, Germany
In the Group since: April 2011
Why did you join Monier?
After obtaining my master’s degree in engineering in food technology I first started working in a tobacco company as a process engineer, first in Russia and then in England. During my time in England, I was admitted to Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg to deepen my knowledge in the field of quality, safety and environment. Afterwards, I started looking for a job in an engineering centre and Monier Technical Centre perfectly matched my requirements. I have the opportunity to travel, to meet new people and to learn new approaches to the production processes. Also, the impression I got from the people during the interview was very positive. The company culture reflects my personal values and this is very important for me.
Until March 2012 you have been working as project engineer. Please briefly describe your job tasks.
In short, my job was divided into two parts: The first one was providing technical support to the production plants worldwide in case of any problems with the production processes.
The second part were projects such as the development of new processes or the improvement of existing ones, the implementation of new technologies or the training of production personnel.
And since March 2012 I have been promoted Quality Manager to drive and support the implementation of the Group wide Quality Initiaitve into the business units.
How can your experience within the Group help you develop your personal and professional skills?
There are many training courses that I can attend. Some courses are organised by Monier and some by the suppliers of machinery and raw materials. It goes without saying that I also always have the support from my colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge with me.
What makes MONIER unique? How would you describe the company culture?
I think that it is the people who work in Monier that make this company unique. I work in a technical centre and I have to travel a lot to the various plants. Wherever I went, I met open and genuine people who are always ready to help. I would say it’s like a big family. I would describe the company culture as “Freedom through responsibility”. Everybody is encouraged to bring in new ideas and to think how to improve the process or the quality of the product.
