Product launch MONIER UK: two new colours of Heathland plain tiles

Redland, the UK brand of the MONIER Group, is adding to its range of Heathland plain tiles with two new colours – Elizabethan and Wealden Red.

Heathland concrete tiles were launched as an imitation of the hand-made clay tiles that are particularly popular in the South of the country. They are all through-coloured and use the same sands for the surface finish that are used on clay tiles, while the manufacturing process faithfully reproduces the aesthetic and random irregularities in the size and surface texture that are expected with a hand-made product. “The resulting tiles are virtually indistinguishable from the clay hand-made equivalents, but cost 50% less than the originals and result in just half the embodied carbon to produce”, explains Product Manager Steve Rose.

Elizabethan and Wealden Red, the two new Heathland colours, add to the existing Ember, Autumn and Manor House Mix colours.
