MONIER Norway: Divoroll is approved for eco-labelled houses
Thursday 27, March 2008
Mesterhus, Norway’s biggest house builder, has approved the use of MONIER Norway’s Divoroll underlay for their eco labelled, low energy-consuming houses. Eco labelling puts high demand on the materials and building process, as it is a proof of quality, verifying an environmentally friendly house and product. An eco labelled house has a better indoor climate and heating consumption that is drastically reduced.
The advantage of using Divoroll as the underlay on eco labelled houses is its breathability, amongst other things. A unique quality of the product is that it is flexible, simplifying the possibility of making construction projects wind- and waterproof, especially in transition areas between the roof and the walls and roof outlets. While Divoroll is wind- and waterproof, however, the underlay still allows humidity to escape from underneath. This is an important factor, especially in Norway, where all newly built houses must consume lower amounts of energy starting in 2009.
