Green contest for architects

MONIER Netherlands recently awarded the overall winner of their “Greenest Project” contest, where professional architects competed to win one of four quarterly prizes of 5,000 € and the overall grand prize of 25,000 €. Over the course of the contest, nearly 60 entrants submitted a variety of projects that were realised with a strong focus on environmental aspects as well as durability, and that were completed with MONIER Netherlands concrete tiles.

The winner

The overall winner was also the first quarter winner. Architect Grotenberg Warnsveld submitted his project of six “green” houses in Zelhem, The Netherlands. The project was constructed with sustainable materials, including the small, flat Astratto concrete tiles from MONIER. In addition, the houses boast a unique architectural design where the power source is solar energy.
